Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Metal Products & Machinery and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO), which rose 5.36% or 3.55 points to trade at 69.75 at the close. Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) added 4.72% or 0.120 points to end at 2.660 and BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS (IS:BIMAS) was up 4.60% or 3.00 points to 68.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento Sanayi TAS (IS:AFYON), which lost 6.14% or 0.38 points to trade at 5.81 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 5.71% or 0.020 points to end at 0.330 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) shed 4.62% or 0.960 points to 19.820.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 188 to 157 and 62 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1270.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 4.56% or 2.99 to hit $68.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.45% or 1.79 to trade at $74.84 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.67% to 4.6883, while EUR/TRY fell 0.53% to 5.4549.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 94.38.
