Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Sports, Insurance and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS:TURSG), which rose 7.73% or 1.19 points to trade at 16.59 at the close. Yeo Teknoloji Enerji ve Endustri AS (IS:YEOTK) added 6.18% or 3.03 points to end at 52.05 and Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) was up 5.14% or 2.26 points to 46.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL), which lost 1.56% or 0.24 points to trade at 15.18 in late trade. Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL) declined 1.42% or 0.18 points to end at 12.52 and Altinay Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:ALTNY) shed 1.17% or 1.00 points to 84.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 369 to 194 and 23 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.89% or 23.65 to $2,630.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.80% or 0.56 to hit $70.18 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.54 to trade at $73.39 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.22% to 35.21, while EUR/TRY rose 0.23% to 36.70.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 107.83.
