Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Electricity and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.74% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which rose 8.58% or 1.31 points to trade at 16.57 at the close. Anel Elektrik Proje Taahhut ve Ticaret AS (IS:ANELE) added 7.64% or 0.240 points to end at 3.380 and Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) was up 6.25% or 0.090 points to 1.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which lost 6.01% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.720 in late trade. Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN) declined 2.61% or 0.210 points to end at 7.830 and ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) shed 2.57% or 0.120 points to 4.550.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 189 to 156 and 62 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1269.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $58.14 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $64.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.12% to 3.8161, while EUR/TRY fell 0.09% to 4.5337.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 92.96.
