Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Sports, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS), which rose 10.00% or 0.44 points to trade at 4.84 at the close. Girisim Elektrik Taahhut Ticaret & Sanayi AS (IS:GESAN) added 5.08% or 2.32 points to end at 47.98 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) was up 4.45% or 4.90 points to 114.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO), which lost 2.95% or 0.41 points to trade at 13.47 in late trade. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) declined 2.95% or 2.15 points to end at 70.85 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) shed 2.65% or 0.76 points to 27.96.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 302 to 253 and 28 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.60% or 15.89 to $2,651.39 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $70.09 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $73.17 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 35.17, while EUR/TRY rose 0.03% to 36.62.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 107.97.
