Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Sports, Insurance and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turcas Petrol AS (IS:TRCAS), which rose 5.86% or 0.130 points to trade at 2.350 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:ALCTL) added 3.66% or 0.270 points to end at 7.640 and Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) was up 3.01% or 1.02 points to 34.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which lost 2.84% or 0.120 points to trade at 4.110 in late trade. GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO) declined 2.30% or 0.020 points to end at 0.850 and Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) shed 1.92% or 0.080 points to 4.090.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 196 to 145 and 67 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.24% or 3.20 to $1358.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $61.38 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.37 to trade at $64.70 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.62% to 3.7410, while EUR/TRY fell 1.06% to 4.6572.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 88.80.
