Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Textile & Leather, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS (IS:DOAS), which rose 16.55% or 0.71 points to trade at 5.00 at the close. Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) added 8.71% or 0.310 points to end at 3.870 and Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) was up 7.33% or 4.10 points to 60.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS), which lost 9.08% or 0.690 points to trade at 6.910 in late trade. Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) declined 7.50% or 0.090 points to end at 1.110 and Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO) shed 7.06% or 0.120 points to 1.580.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 235 to 129 and 42 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.33% or 4.00 to $1218.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.08% or 0.05 to hit $66.23 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.14 to trade at $76.05 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.46% to 5.6094, while EUR/TRY rose 2.31% to 6.3582.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 96.78.
