Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Leasing & Factoring and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS:TURSG), which rose 3.17% or 0.38 points to trade at 12.38 at the close. BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS (IS:BIMAS) added 3.01% or 18.00 points to end at 615.50 and Haci Omer Sabanci Holding AS (IS:SAHOL) was up 2.78% or 2.60 points to 96.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM), which lost 8.45% or 18.00 points to trade at 195.00 in late trade. Borusan Birlesik Boru Fabrikalari Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRSAN) declined 4.89% or 27.00 points to end at 525.00 and Hektas Ticaret TAS (IS:HEKTS) shed 4.25% or 0.18 points to 4.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 378 to 177 and 22 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 7.15 to $2,599.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.70% or 0.49 to hit $69.47 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.55 to trade at $73.15 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.03% to 34.09, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 37.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 100.60.
