Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Textile & Leather and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Cam Sanayi AS (IS:ANACM), which rose 7.56% or 0.260 points to trade at 3.700 at the close. Turcas Petrol AS (IS:TRCAS) added 4.24% or 0.100 points to end at 2.460 and Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) was up 4.08% or 0.190 points to 4.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which lost 3.66% or 0.170 points to trade at 4.470 in late trade. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) declined 3.01% or 0.55 points to end at 17.72 and Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) shed 2.33% or 0.250 points to 10.490.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 196 to 146 and 66 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.56% or 7.50 to $1327.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.46% or 0.29 to hit $62.31 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.28 to trade at $65.51 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.07% to 3.7969, while EUR/TRY rose 0.03% to 4.7090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 89.64.
