Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Metal Products & Machinery, Technology and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO), which rose 7.26% or 3.80 points to trade at 56.15 at the close. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) added 5.76% or 0.080 points to end at 1.470 and Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) was up 5.32% or 0.160 points to 3.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS), which lost 2.23% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.390 in late trade. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) declined 2.16% or 0.050 points to end at 2.270 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) shed 1.97% or 0.48 points to 23.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 188 to 149 and 71 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.12% or 1.60 to $1290.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $52.15 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.19 to trade at $61.25 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.18% to 5.4083, while EUR/TRY fell 1.36% to 6.2294.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 94.977.
