Proactive Investors - The owners of the Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph newspapers have denied the business is on the brink of administration following a spat with one of its lenders, Lloyds Banking Group (LON:LLOY) PLC.
According to a report in the Times Lloyds had threatened to push the Barclay family towards administration after debt negotiations failed.
However, a spokesperson told Evening Standard: “The loans in question are related to the family’s overarching ownership structure of its media assets.
“They do not, in any way, affect the operations or financial stability of Telegraph Media Group.”
The Barclay family, in addition to the Telegraph Media Group, owns online retailer Very and the Spectator magazine.
