Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Computers & Peripherals and Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 4.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chiu Ting Machinery Co Ltd (TW:1539), which rose 9.98% or 3.00 points to trade at 33.05 at the close. Onano Industrial Corp (TW:6405) added 9.88% or 3.40 points to end at 37.80 and Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) was up 9.44% or 13.50 points to 156.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 in late trade. Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) declined 9.94% or 3.35 points to end at 30.35 and Lotes Co Ltd (TW:3533) shed 9.93% or 150.00 points to 1,360.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.39% or 0.27 to $69.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.37% or 0.27 to hit $72.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 5.30 to trade at $2,531.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.18% to 32.06, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 101.22.
