Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 4.43% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374), which rose 9.91% or 11.00 points to trade at 122.00 at the close. Roundtop Machinery Industries Co Ltd (TW:1540) added 9.88% or 3.35 points to end at 37.25 and Super Dragon Technology Co Ltd (TW:9955) was up 4.90% or 1.80 points to 38.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metaage Corp (TW:6112), which lost 10.00% or 6.00 points to trade at 54.00 in late trade. LongDa Construction & Development Corp (TW:5519) declined 9.90% or 6.00 points to end at 54.60 and Kaori Heat Treatment Co Ltd (TW:8996) shed 9.89% or 36.00 points to 328.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.35% or 0.99 to $72.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.25% or 0.96 to hit $75.85 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 4.15 to trade at $2,473.95 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.30% to 32.70, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.73% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 102.71.
