Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 2.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. TOPBI International Holdings Ltd (TW:2929) added 9.95% or 1.00 points to end at 11.05 and Sunjuice Holdings Co Ltd (TW:1256) was up 9.80% or 15.00 points to 168.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Wan Hai Lines Ltd (TW:2615) declined 8.84% or 9.50 points to end at 98.00 and King Slide Works Co Ltd (TW:2059) shed 8.71% or 105.00 points to 1,100.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.09% or 0.06 to $68.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $71.75 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 5.40 to trade at $2,664.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.37% to 31.89, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.32% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 100.59.
