Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Transport and Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 1.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mao Bao Inc (TW:1732), which rose 9.95% or 3.05 points to trade at 33.70 at the close. Universal Inc (TW:1325) added 9.87% or 3.45 points to end at 38.40 and Adimmune Corp (TW:4142) was up 9.83% or 2.05 points to 22.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912), which lost 9.97% or 17.00 points to trade at 153.50 in late trade. Asia Optical Co Inc (TW:3019) declined 9.86% or 17.00 points to end at 155.50 and Aurotek Corp (TW:6215) shed 9.19% or 9.60 points to 94.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.53% or 0.39 to $74.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.53% or 0.41 to hit $77.33 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 8.56 to trade at $2,699.36 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.24% to 32.96, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.22% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 109.18.
