Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434), which rose 9.70% or 1.15 points to trade at 13.00 at the close. Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW:6230) added 9.69% or 9.10 points to end at 103.00 and Orient Semiconductor Electronics Ltd (TW:2329) was up 8.70% or 1.00 points to 12.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rexon Industrial Corp Ltd (TW:1515), which lost 10.00% or 5.80 points to trade at 52.20 in late trade. Evertex Fabrinology Ltd (TW:1470) declined 7.18% or 1.40 points to end at 18.10 and LIWANLI Innovation Co Ltd (TW:3054) shed 6.54% or 1.70 points to 24.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 562 to 232 and 114 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.68% or 0.51 to $75.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.26% or 0.22 to hit $85.20 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.49% or 5.80 to trade at $1197.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.21% to 30.618, while TWD/CNY fell 0.31% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 95.11.
