Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Plastic and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gordon Auto Body Parts Co Ltd (TW:1524), which rose 9.95% or 3.65 points to trade at 40.35 at the close. GEM Services Inc (TW:6525) added 9.91% or 6.40 points to end at 71.00 and Universal Inc (TW:1325) was up 9.91% or 3.15 points to 34.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EverFocus Electronics Corp (TW:5484), which lost 6.48% or 4.40 points to trade at 63.50 in late trade. Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW:3025) declined 6.44% or 5.10 points to end at 74.10 and Jentech Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3653) shed 6.05% or 95.00 points to 1,475.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.08% or 0.06 to $73.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $76.23 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 4.42 to trade at $2,676.82 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.16% to 32.94, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 108.96.
