Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Paper & Pulp and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.76% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Paiho Shih Holdings Corp (TW:8404), which rose 7.91% or 4.70 points to trade at 64.10 at the close. Tripod Technology Corp (TW:3044) added 4.43% or 4.50 points to end at 106.00 and Flexium Interconnect Inc (TW:6269) was up 3.70% or 4.00 points to 112.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Crowell Development Corp (TW:2528), which lost 10.00% or 2.50 points to trade at 22.50 in late trade. Formosa Sumco Technology Corp (TW:3532) declined 9.91% or 11.50 points to end at 104.50 and Anji Technology Co Ltd (TW:6477) shed 9.83% or 2.30 points to 21.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 546 to 216 and 107 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.17% or 0.09 to $52.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $58.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.64 to trade at $1312.14 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.20% to 30.230, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2185.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 92.40.
