Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526), which rose 9.98% or 2.55 points to trade at 28.10 at the close. Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) added 9.95% or 7.70 points to end at 85.10 and HannsTouch Solution Inc (TW:3049) was up 9.92% or 0.72 points to 7.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452), which lost 9.93% or 15.00 points to trade at 136.00 in late trade. Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) declined 9.78% or 0.93 points to end at 8.58 and Inventec Corp (TW:2356) shed 9.50% or 2.45 points to 23.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 471 to 319 and 112 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.28% or 0.77 to $59.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.98% or 0.69 to hit $69.43 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1203.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.15% to 30.887, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2248.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 97.37.
