Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Glass and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Space Shuttle Hi-Tech Co Ltd (TW:2440), which rose 10.00% or 1.55 points to trade at 17.05 at the close. Cub Elecparts Inc (TW:2231) added 10.00% or 35.50 points to end at 390.50 and GenMont Biotech Inc (TW:3164) was up 9.98% or 2.35 points to 25.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Copartner Technology Corp (TW:3550), which lost 9.83% or 2.25 points to trade at 20.65 in late trade. Taiwan Chelic Corp Ltd (TW:4555) declined 9.74% or 8.20 points to end at 76.00 and Plotech Co Ltd (TW:6141) shed 6.42% or 1.55 points to 22.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 483 to 303 and 128 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.86% or 0.54 to $62.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.82% or 0.54 to hit $65.25 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1335.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.10% to 29.238, while TWD/CNY rose 0.42% to 0.2168.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 89.39.
