Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Auto and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475), which rose 10.00% or 1.00 points to trade at 11.00 at the close. Coland Holdings Ltd (TW:4144) added 9.97% or 2.85 points to end at 31.45 and Asmedia Technology Inc (TW:5269) was up 9.91% or 42.50 points to 471.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Chuwa Wool Industry Co Taiwan Ltd (TW:1439), which lost 9.95% or 3.80 points to trade at 34.40 in late trade. Chilisin Electronics Corp (TW:2456) declined 8.95% or 8.10 points to end at 82.40 and Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) shed 8.31% or 5.60 points to 61.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 577 to 248 and 72 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.39% or 0.27 to $68.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.47% or 0.37 to hit $79.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1232.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.32% to 30.901, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2229.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 95.65.
