Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Paper & Pulp sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Apex Medical Corp (TW:4106), which rose 9.85% or 2.55 points to trade at 28.45 at the close. Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) added 9.68% or 1.20 points to end at 13.60 and AzureWave Technologies Inc (TW:3694) was up 8.75% or 1.85 points to 23.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958), which lost 8.18% or 8.10 points to trade at 90.90 in late trade. CSBC Corp Taiwan (TW:2208) declined 6.79% or 2.90 points to end at 39.80 and Yungtay Engineering Co Ltd (TW:1507) shed 4.87% or 2.45 points to 47.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 482 to 312 and 120 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.17% or 0.12 to $72.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.07% or 0.06 to hit $81.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.70 to trade at $1185.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.07% to 30.515, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 94.67.
