Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229), which rose 9.97% or 1.80 points to trade at 19.85 at the close. Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348) added 9.90% or 2.95 points to end at 32.75 and Danen Technology Corp (TW:3686) was up 9.84% or 0.57 points to 6.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which lost 9.94% or 2.40 points to trade at 21.75 in late trade. Elite Advanced Laser Corp (TW:3450) declined 7.46% or 8.50 points to end at 105.50 and Hota Industrial Mfg. Co Ltd (TW:1536) shed 4.83% or 6.50 points to 128.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 481 to 277 and 119 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.36% or 0.17 to $47.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.43% or 0.22 to hit $51.02 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.83 to trade at $1276.87 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 30.349, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2205.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.80.
