Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Auto and Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Young Optics Inc (TW:3504), which rose 10.00% or 10.00 points to trade at 110.00 at the close. JSL Construction & Development Co Ltd (TW:2540) added 9.85% or 2.60 points to end at 29.00 and Tatung Co (TW:2371) was up 7.71% or 2.80 points to 39.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tai Twun Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3432), which lost 7.50% or 1.35 points to trade at 16.65 in late trade. China Motor Corp (TW:2204) declined 6.30% or 1.80 points to end at 26.75 and Lily Textile Co Ltd (TW:1443) shed 5.96% or 0.49 points to 7.73.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 493 to 308 and 108 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.24% or 0.16 to $67.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.27% or 0.20 to hit $72.70 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.40% or 4.90 to trade at $1223.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.20% to 30.663, while TWD/CNY rose 0.23% to 0.2203.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.98.
