Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Textile, Electricity and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chang Ho (TW:1468), which rose 10.00% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) added 9.74% or 0.42 points to end at 4.73 and Cx Tech (TW:2415) was up 7.96% or 1.60 points to 21.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yu Foung Intl (TW:1438), which lost 7.27% or 0.330 points to trade at 4.210 in late trade. Tainan Cayman (TW:5906) declined 5.51% or 0.350 points to end at 6.000 and Jenn Feng (TW:1538) shed 5.08% or 0.35 points to 6.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 450 to 288 and 110 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.01% or 0.46 to $45.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.96% or 0.45 to hit $47.28 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.42% or 5.65 to trade at $1337.05 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.17% to 31.372, while TWD/CNY rose 0.28% to 0.2138.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 95.22.
