Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Textile, Semiconductor and Electronics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 2.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hiroca Holdings Ltd (TW:1338), which rose 10.00% or 2.95 points to trade at 32.45 at the close. Edimax Technology Co Ltd (TW:3047) added 10.00% or 4.05 points to end at 44.55 and Tidehold Development Co Ltd (TW:9902) was up 9.98% or 2.00 points to 22.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) declined 9.72% or 0.28 points to end at 2.60 and Mercuries & Associates Holding Ltd (TW:2905) shed 3.55% or 0.75 points to 20.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.41% or 0.31 to $75.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.33% or 0.26 to hit $79.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 2.00 to trade at $2,539.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.71% to 31.96, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.31% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 101.86.
