Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Glass, Construction and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Dynamic Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3715) added 9.94% or 6.90 points to end at 76.30 and Wan Hai Lines Ltd (TW:2615) was up 9.94% or 8.20 points to 90.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hsin Ba Ba Corp (TW:9906), which lost 9.91% or 16.00 points to trade at 145.50 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Evermore Chemical Industry Co Ltd (TW:1735) shed 9.82% or 2.75 points to 25.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.43% or 0.31 to $71.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.34% or 0.25 to hit $74.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 5.85 to trade at $2,682.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 31.86, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.23% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 100.00.
