Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Cement, Cement & Glass and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.47% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375), which rose 10.00% or 5.00 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Enlight Corp (TW:2438) added 9.99% or 0.90 points to end at 9.91 and King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) was up 9.98% or 2.70 points to 29.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Carnival Industrial Corp (TW:1417), which lost 4.98% or 0.34 points to trade at 6.49 in late trade. I-Chiun Precision Industry Co Ltd (TW:2486) declined 4.48% or 0.60 points to end at 12.80 and Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434) shed 3.40% or 0.60 points to 17.05.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 586 to 212 and 117 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $65.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.27% or 0.21 to hit $76.58 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1295.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.06% to 29.802, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2146.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.06.
