Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Textile, Machinery and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Li Cheng Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:4426), which rose 9.99% or 3.60 points to trade at 39.65 at the close. Bestec Power Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3308) added 9.95% or 0.79 points to end at 8.73 and Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262) was up 9.87% or 3.10 points to 34.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018), which lost 9.91% or 4.50 points to trade at 40.90 in late trade. Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) declined 9.78% or 1.75 points to end at 16.15 and Hotel Holiday Garden (TW:2702) shed 9.59% or 1.65 points to 15.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 592 to 215 and 115 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.17% or 0.11 to $65.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $72.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.58% or 6.90 to trade at $1201.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.07% to 30.701, while TWD/CNY rose 0.13% to 0.2244.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 95.46.
