Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Semiconductor and Electronics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.72% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were HiTi Digital Inc (TW:3494), which rose 10.00% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Acer Inc (TW:2353) added 7.72% or 2.10 points to end at 29.30 and Yageo Corp (TW:2327) was up 7.46% or 27.00 points to 389.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Darwin Precisions Corp (TW:6120), which lost 9.48% or 3.75 points to trade at 35.80 in late trade. Taimide Tech Inc (TW:3645) declined 4.80% or 4.30 points to end at 85.20 and Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) shed 4.33% or 0.26 points to 5.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 478 to 298 and 113 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.28% or 0.82 to $63.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.02% or 0.71 to hit $68.60 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 4.90 to trade at $1332.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.57% to 29.384, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2169.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 90.19.
