Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Other Electronic and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.66% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Copartner Technology Corp (TW:3550) added 9.96% or 2.65 points to end at 29.25 and Wan Hai Lines Ltd (TW:2615) was up 9.94% or 8.20 points to 90.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Aces Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3605) declined 9.66% or 5.90 points to end at 55.20 and Headway Advanced Materials Inc (TW:1776) shed 9.43% or 2.50 points to 24.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.57% or 1.79 to $67.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.57% or 1.87 to hit $71.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.80 to trade at $2,683.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.48% to 31.85, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.32% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 100.50.
