Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Hotels and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.45% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Taiwan Mask Corp (TW:2338), which rose 10.00% or 2.55 points to trade at 28.05 at the close. Infodisc Technology Co Ltd (TW:2491) added 9.98% or 0.81 points to end at 8.93 and Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) was up 9.97% or 3.80 points to 41.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ritek Corp (TW:2349), which lost 9.86% or 1.800 points to trade at 16.450 in late trade. JSL Construction & Development Co Ltd (TW:2540) declined 8.04% or 2.90 points to end at 33.15 and Eclat Textile Co Ltd (TW:1476) shed 7.32% or 28.50 points to 361.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 423 to 373 and 115 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.39% or 0.25 to $64.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.62% or 0.47 to hit $75.83 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1301.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.02% to 29.703, while TWD/CNY rose 0.37% to 0.2156.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.40.
