Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Plastic and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Meiloon Industrial Co Ltd (TW:2477), which rose 9.98% or 3.20 points to trade at 35.25 at the close. Daxin Materials Corp (TW:5234) added 9.98% or 20.50 points to end at 226.00 and Abonmax Co Ltd (TW:2429) was up 9.97% or 2.85 points to 31.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Realtek Semiconductor Corp (TW:2379) shed 7.51% or 38.00 points to 468.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.56% or 0.39 to $69.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.57% or 0.42 to hit $73.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 2.50 to trade at $2,594.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.04% to 31.96, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 100.51.
