Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Other Electronic and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.42% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were D-Link Corp (TW:2332), which rose 10.00% or 1.25 points to trade at 13.75 at the close. Ritek Corp (TW:2349) added 10.00% or 1.100 points to end at 12.100 and APAQ Technology Co Ltd (TW:6449) was up 10.00% or 6.80 points to 74.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958), which lost 8.71% or 4.80 points to trade at 50.30 in late trade. Min Aik Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:4545) declined 6.48% or 2.55 points to end at 36.80 and Ruentex Materials Co Ltd (TW:8463) shed 5.96% or 1.70 points to 26.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 463 to 344 and 110 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.47% or 1.00 to $66.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.89% or 0.68 to hit $75.79 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 7.90 to trade at $1295.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.13% to 29.916, while TWD/CNY rose 0.56% to 0.2137.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 93.88.
