Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Machinery, Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.32% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Chia Ta World Co Ltd (TW:2033) added 9.98% or 2.00 points to end at 22.05 and CyberTAN Technology Inc (TW:3062) was up 9.97% or 3.10 points to 34.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Zippy Technology Corp (TW:2420), which lost 9.90% or 7.80 points to trade at 71.00 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and HannStar Board Corp (TW:5469) shed 9.22% or 5.27 points to 51.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 3.71% or 2.74 to $71.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 3.68% or 2.85 to hit $74.61 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 5.80 to trade at $2,659.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 32.20, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.41% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.13.
