Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Financials and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sunspring Metal Corp (TW:2062), which rose 9.98% or 3.05 points to trade at 33.60 at the close. Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) added 9.98% or 2.30 points to end at 25.35 and Ritek Corp (TW:2349) was up 9.93% or 1.45 points to 16.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included C Sun Manufacturing Ltd (TW:2467), which lost 10.00% or 20.50 points to trade at 184.50 in late trade. I-Chiun Precision Industry Co Ltd (TW:2486) declined 9.96% or 12.00 points to end at 108.50 and RichWave Technology Corp (TW:4968) shed 9.92% or 23.50 points to 213.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.47% or 0.36 to $75.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.46% or 0.36 to hit $78.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 7.85 to trade at $2,433.35 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.06% to 32.85, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.05% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 104.42.
