Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Other Electronic and Electronics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chilisin Electronics Corp (TW:2456), which rose 10.00% or 13.50 points to trade at 148.50 at the close. Lelon Electronics Corp (TW:2472) added 9.98% or 6.30 points to end at 69.40 and Episil-Precision Inc (TW:3016) was up 9.93% or 5.50 points to 60.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abocom Systems Inc (TW:2444), which lost 9.83% or 1.75 points to trade at 16.05 in late trade. Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) declined 9.62% or 1.15 points to end at 10.80 and Taiwan Prosperity Chemical Corp (TW:4725) shed 6.91% or 2.35 points to 31.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 463 to 339 and 110 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.38% or 0.27 to $70.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.46% or 0.36 to hit $78.43 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 2.10 to trade at $1302.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.00% to 29.946, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2129.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 93.87.
