Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Computers & Peripherals, Textile and Cement sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arcadyan Technology Corp (TW:3596), which rose 9.76% or 8.40 points to trade at 94.50 at the close. Chi Mei Materials Technology Corp (TW:4960) added 9.73% or 1.10 points to end at 12.40 and KPT Industries Ltd (TW:1805) was up 9.57% or 1.00 points to 11.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519), which lost 10.00% or 0.60 points to trade at 5.40 in late trade. AU Optronics (TW:2409) declined 6.67% or 0.85 points to end at 11.90 and Wei Chuan Foods Corp (TW:1201) shed 5.79% or 1.30 points to 21.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 447 to 323 and 148 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.24% or 0.13 to $53.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.34% or 0.21 to hit $61.41 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 5.05 to trade at $1313.95 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.10% to 30.756, while TWD/CNY fell 0.23% to 0.2181.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 95.417.
