Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 added 2.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Svenska Handelsbanken ser. A (ST:SHBa), which rose 4.77% or 6.0 points to trade at 131.8 at the close. Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken A (ST:SEBa) added 4.23% or 4.40 points to end at 108.30 and Modern Times Group MTG AB ser. B (ST:MTGBs) was up 3.75% or 8.7 points to 240.7 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE), which lost 0.80% or 1.10 points to trade at 136.60 in late trade. Alfa Laval AB (ST:ALFA) added 0.41% or 0.6 points to end at 147.1 and Sandvik AB (ST:SAND) gained 1.05% or 0.95 points to 91.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 352 to 84 and 4 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $52.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $58.66 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.25% or 2.90 to trade at $1162.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.47% to 9.4116, while USD/SEK fell 0.61% to 8.4358.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.68% at 96.01.
