Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Household, Healthcare and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Reds (AT:CAMr), which rose 9.71% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.339 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 9.49% or 0.065 points to end at 0.750 and Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) was up 7.10% or 0.1100 points to 1.6600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which lost 8.55% or 0.058 points to trade at 0.620 in late trade. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 7.44% or 0.043 points to end at 0.535 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 6.54% or 0.007 points to 0.100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 43 and 2 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1068.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.50% or 0.92 to hit $37.73 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.83% or 1.03 to trade at $37.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.0916, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.7378.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 98.37.
