Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 24.51% or 12.50 points to trade at 63.50 at the close. Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) added 15.97% or 9.90 points to end at 71.90 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) was up 8.33% or 0.100 points to 1.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI), which lost 17.78% or 16.00 points to trade at 74.00 in late trade. Asia Capital PLC (CM:ACAP) declined 16.15% or 2.10 points to end at 10.90 and Ceylon Tea Services PLC (CM:CTEA) shed 12.55% or 104.00 points to 725.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 93 and 61 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.50% or 0.23 to $45.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.48% or 0.23 to hit $48.58 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.75% or 10.05 to trade at $1357.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.30% to 187.080, while USD/LKR fell 0.09% to 145.260.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.85% at 94.77.
