Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Diversified Holdings, Services and Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST), which rose 15.65% or 16.10 points to trade at 119.00 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Lanka Aluminium Industries PLC (CM:LALU) was up 12.54% or 8.80 points to 79.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which lost 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 in late trade. Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) declined 10.50% or 2.50 points to end at 21.30 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) shed 10.05% or 3.90 points to 34.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 96 to 79 and 51 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.14% or 0.07 to $50.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.19% or 0.11 to hit $56.54 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.51 to trade at $1300.31 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.17% to 207.060, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 152.790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 91.74.
