Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Healthcare and Stores & Supplies sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which rose 26.83% or 5.50 points to trade at 26.00 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 25.00% or 14.90 points to end at 74.50 and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) was up 21.15% or 1.10 points to 6.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which lost 19.60% or 16.60 points to trade at 68.10 in late trade. Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) declined 15.58% or 4.80 points to end at 26.00 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) shed 12.50% or 50.00 points to 350.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 68 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.06% or 0.76 to $72.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.78% or 0.63 to hit $81.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1199.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.13% to 222.380, while USD/LKR rose 0.20% to 169.290.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 94.10.
