Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Construction & Engineering and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 25.00% or 6.90 points to end at 34.50 and Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL) was up 24.95% or 12.60 points to 63.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included George Steuart Finance Ltd (CM:GEOR), which lost 10.88% or 2.60 points to trade at 21.30 in late trade. Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) declined 7.14% or 0.10 points to end at 1.30 and Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC (CM:LHCL) shed 6.30% or 3.70 points to 55.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 81 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.31% or 0.21 to $68.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.34% or 0.25 to hit $73.87 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1311.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 214.145, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 157.810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 92.39.
