Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI), which rose 17.29% or 73.70 points to trade at 500.00 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which lost 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 in late trade. Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) declined 22.00% or 110.00 points to end at 390.00 and Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) shed 14.73% or 9.50 points to 55.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 72 and 57 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.04% or 0.02 to $50.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.69% or 0.39 to hit $56.81 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.07 to trade at $1297.57 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.13% to 206.440, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 152.910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 92.31.
