Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Land & Property and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL), which rose 22.57% or 7.90 points to trade at 42.90 at the close. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 14.12% or 86.60 points to end at 700.00 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) was up 14.12% or 1.20 points to 9.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which lost 16.00% or 14.10 points to trade at 74.00 in late trade. Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV) declined 10.24% or 4.70 points to end at 41.20 and Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) shed 10.05% or 9.50 points to 85.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 91 and 61 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.33% or 0.22 to $67.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $73.03 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 4.20 to trade at $1311.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.48% to 215.650, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 157.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 92.19.
