Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Trading and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) added 20.33% or 12.50 points to end at 74.00 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) was up 17.91% or 9.10 points to 59.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL), which lost 15.11% or 3.40 points to trade at 19.10 in late trade. George Steuart Finance Ltd (CM:GEOR) declined 13.66% or 3.10 points to end at 19.60 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) shed 12.71% or 89.00 points to 611.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 84 and 62 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.74% or 1.18 to $66.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.43% or 1.09 to hit $75.38 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 6.30 to trade at $1297.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 210.390, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 157.910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 94.20.
