Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Power & Energy and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.17% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which rose 24.92% or 29.90 points to trade at 149.90 at the close. EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) added 16.67% or 200.00 points to end at 1400.00 and Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) was up 14.80% or 4.90 points to 38.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 in late trade. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Ceylinco Insurance PLC (CM:CINS) shed 10.65% or 179.00 points to 1501.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 82 to 63 and 67 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.24% or 0.16 to $66.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $75.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1298.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.39% to 213.230, while USD/LKR rose 0.15% to 159.750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 93.78.
