Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Land & Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 25.00% or 12.00 points to trade at 60.00 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 20.90% or 10.70 points to end at 61.90 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP), which lost 11.84% or 4.70 points to trade at 35.00 in late trade. Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) declined 10.21% or 10.80 points to end at 95.00 and Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) shed 9.38% or 0.60 points to 5.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 76 and 56 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.86% or 0.63 to $72.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.87% or 0.67 to hit $76.72 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1255.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.18% to 210.630, while USD/LKR rose 0.18% to 159.240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 94.06.
