Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Stores & Supplies, Healthcare and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which rose 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 0.800 and Marawila Resorts PLC (CM:MARA) was up 11.11% or 0.200 points to 2.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS), which lost 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 in late trade. Mackwoods Energy PLC (CM:MWEL) declined 10.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.800 and Asia Capital PLC (CM:ACAP) shed 9.59% or 0.70 points to 6.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 74 and 56 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.16% or 0.11 to $68.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.69% or 1.27 to hit $74.05 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1268.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.45% to 210.040, while USD/LKR fell 0.18% to 158.710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.33.
