Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.11% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF), which rose 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and York Arcade Holdings PLC (CM:YORK) was up 10.37% or 9.30 points to 99.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which lost 15.87% or 54.70 points to trade at 290.00 in late trade. Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) declined 13.87% or 64.40 points to end at 400.00 and Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) shed 13.50% or 2.70 points to 17.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.28% or 0.19 to $66.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.17% or 0.89 to hit $75.05 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.46% or 6.00 to trade at $1302.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.51% to 216.060, while USD/LKR rose 2.02% to 162.880.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 94.81.
